Abel CovarrubiasBoard Member-at-Large, Chief Executive Officer, Aprendamos, Hearts For Autism, Co-Founder

    Abel Covarrubias is the Chief Executive Officer for Aprendamos Intervention Team, a program providing early intervention services in Dona Ana County in Las Cruces, New Mexico. He also oversees several other clinics for children, which include Esperanza Children’s Clinic, Mariposa Autism Service Center, and Alegria Family Counseling.

    He has a Masters in Special Education/Communication Disorders from New Mexico State University.

    Abel is actively involved in various boards, which include Health Advisory Council, US Bank Community Advisory Board, and the Community Foundation of Southern New Mexico. Abel is Co-Founder of the Hearts for Autism Fund at the Community Foundation of Southern New Mexico. He is a Paul Harris Fellow/Rotary Foundation of Rotary International and received the Community Foundation of Southern New Mexico Salud Award for his significant and outstanding commitment to improve health care in Southern New Mexico. Abel is passionate about philanthropy and has completed mission trips to Ecuador and Nicaragua.

    He also enjoys spending time with his wife, Monica, and his three amazing daughters.
