Herb is married to the former Lorraine Romero and they have 4 children. Additionally, they have 10 grandchildren and 1 great grandson.
Herb was born in El Paso, Texas and raised in Las Cruces. He attended and graduated from Holy Cross Catholic School (Grades 1-8), Jesuit High School (9-12) and New Mexico State University, earning a Bachelors’ degree in Elementary Education and a Masters’ degree in School Administration.
Herb spent 41 years in both private and public education at all levels from kindergarten to post- secondary. He spent 6 of those years as a classroom teacher and the remaining 35 as a school and district level administrator. Herb retired in 2011 and has spent the last 6 years consulting with schools and legal professionals on education related matters.
Herb has served on a number of professional, civic, service and church related organizations over the years and currently is President of Serra Catholic Vocations of the Mesilla Valley and Treasurer for Hearts for Autism Board.
